The Meridian Duet

The Meridian Duet is a custom two-stone engagement ring designed by Amana Engagement around contrast, balance, and the idea of two distinct forms becoming one composition. At the center of the design are two diamonds with completely different personalities: a 2 carat marquise cut diamond and a 2 carat emerald cut diamond, creating approximately 4 carats of combined center-stone presence.

Rather than trying to make the two diamonds look alike, we designed the ring around what makes each shape unique. The marquise brings movement, brilliance, and a long, graceful silhouette. Beside it, the emerald cut introduces clean geometry, broad flashes of light, and a more architectural presence. Together, they form a modern interpretation of the classic toi et moi engagement ring — two stones, two identities, one ring.

One of the defining details of The Meridian Duet is that each diamond receives its own prong treatment. The marquise is secured with compass-style prongs, emphasizing its elongated shape while giving the setting a more directional, contemporary character. The emerald cut remains in classic corner prongs, respecting the strong rectangular geometry and timeless symmetry of the step-cut stone. Instead of forcing both diamonds into the same setting language, each one is allowed to keep its own identity while still belonging to the same design.

The entire ring is built in platinum, chosen for its strength, naturally bright white color, and ability to complement both diamond shapes without adding visual distraction. From the front, the design feels bold and immediate. From the side, the open architecture beneath the diamonds reveals the structure required to bring two very different stones together gracefully. The result is substantial without feeling heavy, modern without becoming trendy, and unconventional without losing timelessness.

The French phrase toi et moi translates to “you and me.” That idea has made two-stone engagement rings enduring symbols of partnership: two individual stones positioned together to represent two people choosing the same future.
